Gigi’s Asian Bistro and Dumpling Bar
Gigi’s Asian Bistro and Dumpling Bar is the place to go for a mixed selection of
Thai, Vietnamese, and Chinese.
Gigi Haung, yes her parents named her after movie, has created an upscale masterpiece within the shopping area of the Houston Galleria. Her executive chef is Junnajet Hurapan, a Thai native. He was the chef at Nong, a very New York, “Sex and the City”, type restaurant on Park Avenue South and Ruby Foo’s Uptown, also in New York.
Although a little pricey, the food is unbelievable. This combined with a very attentive wait staff overseen by Gigi herself, this is the place to be for a business dinner or special outing. My recommendation…go for the Pad Thai.

Ra Sushi/Houson Galleria
Ra Sushi is the perfect restaurant for travelling alone or with business companions. A modern upscale sushi chain, the restaurant is home to all ages, but is frequented by many younger clientel. The sushi is fantastic, and so is the saki list.
Located in the galleria area of Houston the establishment is a good place to meet for happy hour or dinner. The main dishes and sushi are resonably priced and generous portions, and so is the saki. When dinning alone the bar are is large and the wait staff very friendly and attentive.
Closer to the weekend Ra turns into a late nite hangout for the younger crowd. I eaten here three times, and never been disappointed.
