There were no second chances, knowing how to use a light meter and knowing your film was critical and there wer no alternatives like photoshop. I shoot 35 & 4 x 5 and no matter what even if I'm shooting digital i still use the skills I learned over the years and set the scene i want to see befor i shoot. knowing what the final image is going to look like what i see it through the viewfinder rather than saying i can fix it later. I have been in rooms with the new breed of digital photogs shooting sports and watching them look at their preview monitors after every shot. Mind you they get great images, for me its very interesting to watch. I tell my interns to study lighting, color, shape and form... art is what i mean. dont give up being creative and having an understanding of your craft and its history, it always makes you more confident in what you do no matter what it is.

Bravo, i came up in the school of Kodachrome 25/64, Tri & Plus X and you had to get it right in the field.
