Ed Lallo Now Shoots Video Promo’s

It is the starting of a new adventure, one that I really did not mean to get involved, but as the saying goes, “accidents happen”. So it is that I have stumbled through the the stagedoor, into the world of video.

During an equipment update in January, I started to play with one of the new features the Canon has been touting on the new 5d MarkII that I just purchased. For the first time Canon added Hi-Definition video to a professional still camera.

For a number of years, a number of Canon’s amature camera’s have had the capability of shooting high quality video as well as still photography. the 5d MarkII is the first professional camera to offer both. Triggered from Live View Mode, HD video capture allows users to shoot uninterrupted at full 1080 resolution at 30fps – for amazing quality footage with outstanding levels of detail and realism. The integration of HD movie capability into a high-end 21.1 Megapixel camera opens a multitude of new possibilities for photojournalists and news photographers.

The door to these possibilities has already started to open, as clients have already asked me to shoot in the video mode while doing a still shoot.   The ability to quickly switch back and forth between still and video is breathtaking.     What’s next, well wireless mikes have been ordered so the adventure will only be getting better.

  1. This camera is going to change the way we all do business and think creatively. Please keep us updated on getting comfortable with being able to work in both media at the same time. I think we will look back at this camera as a quantum leap in opportunities for photography.I look forward to seeing Ed Lallo, filmmaker.
