ASMP Portfolio: Health Leaders Media Magazine
As a charter member of CreativeShake.com, formerly known has Portfolios.com, benefited my photography business up until the last two years. The three or four assignments received from the site, usually covered the $49 monthly fee.
When the site changed from the mainly photography based Portfolios.com to CreativeShakes.com, a one-stop website for creative types, I noticed a significant drop in assignments received from the site.

Recently Los Angeles photographer Ed Carreon contacted me about the benefits of joining IABC contacted me. During the course of our chat the conversation turned to online marketing, and Carreon pointed out the advantages of joining ASMP.
For the cost of the annual dues, members receive three portfolios on the ASMP site; as well as an additional portfolio on FoundFolio.com – General, Associate, Associate Plus and Emerging Associate members get a basic portfolio on FoundFolios.com included with their membership.
The cost of the membership, even with the one time application fee, still came to a yearly savings over the monthly charges from the CreativeShake site. It will be interesting to see if the ASMP portfolios bring in additional work.
Of course there are other business benefits to joining ASMP, but if a professional photographer is looking a cost-effective way to expand his online presents, ASMP is a definite option that should be explored.
